Welcome to my site!

I’m a British actor, with a chunk of Australian TV, film, theatre and radio drama experience. Born and bred in rural Somerset, I trained with the National Youth Theatre and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, before marrying and emigrating to Australia. During the twenty-four years I spent there, my credits included, first and foremost, being a mum to my two beautiful and talented daughters, being in the main cast of Neighbours, and the female lead in the feature film Cool Change.

I have obstinately never believed in the limitations of playing only my “type”, and have played not only Dr Beverly Marshall in Neighbours, but also an Australian mountain cattle farmer (playing opposite the late Jon Blake in the romance Cool Change), distraught mothers, jilted English wives, an Australian policeman’s wife, a down-to-earth angel, an assortment of maids and housekeepers, (including the eccentric Clara in the Australian tour of Hay Fever, starring Felicity Kendal), a wealthy British landowner, a scientist and CEO, and, most recently, a board member of a chain of hotels.

I’ve also enjoyed recording many short stories – a way of playing all the different characters all at once! Currently you can listen to The Canary by Katherine Mansfield on The Story Player: http://www.thestoryplayer.com/listen-to-the-canary-by-katherine-mansfield/

I love acting. I believe I always will. For me, it’s about exploring living: the way others live their lives, and the way other’s lives can live in me. And often, it’s about the pleasure of hearing an audience laugh.

I hope you enjoy exploring this website, and perhaps learning a little more about me. (If you want to know more, go to my About page.)

With thanks, and warmest good wishes,

Lisa
